We are young and enthusiast researchers from all over the world.
Present your research in a friendly and relaxed environment. Work-in-progress is welcome.
And possibly start new collaborations with our many participants.
Invited speakers from prestigious international academic and industrial institutions.
Thanks to our comprehensive travel grant scheme, including accommodation, meals, and transport.
Meet our sponsor companies and research institutions, eager to know new young talents.
Come to the AIROYoung workshop, on a budget! You just have to get on the airplane, the rest is on us:
The grants are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until there is budget available. Upon acceptance of your request, you are required to confirm within two weeks by providing your air or train reservation. In this way we can both better organise the transfers, and we make sure that the budget is allocated to people who are actually intending to participate.
If you are planning to prolong your stay beyond the two days of the workshop, the University residence can be booked for more nights, at the price of 25 euros per night. We will be happy to help with the reservation or any other enquiry about mobility, sightseeing, etc. Just shoot an email at email@example.com.
The only condition for eligibility is being a member of AIRO, the Italian O.R. Association. If you attended the last ODS conference in Sorrento, then you have been automatically given a membership to AIRO. Otherwise, if you need to enroll, send a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Being a member of AIRO, you can also join our newsletters, receive the 4OR journal, and enjoy discounts to the association's initiatives, e.g. the next ODS annual conference which in 2018 will take place in Taormina in early September.
In case you arrive on a different day than the majority of other participants, or for some other reasons cannot use the provided shuttle service, here are your options for reaching UniCal from Lamezia Terme Airport.
The train station closest to UniCal's campus is Castiglione Cosentino (15 minutes walking, or a few bus stops). You can check train timetables on Trenitalia's website. Another option is to take a train to Paola, and then change to a shuttle bus or a Taxi. The workshop's participants can benefit of a flat 16 Euro fare for the ride from Paola's Train Station to UniCal, with the company Top Class.
There are two options to get to UniCal by coach, coming from many other Italian cities. The first is to take a coach directly to the campus (the stop's name is Quattromiglia, 10 minutes walking to UniCal). Companies servicing this stop are Venus and Ias. The second option is to take a coach to Cosenza Autostazione, and then city bus number 136 to UniCal. Companies serving Autostazione are Simet and Lavalle.
The campus is connected to Cosenza by many buses. The best choice is probably bus number 136, which stops in the central bus station Autostazione, located at 2 minutes walking from Corso Mazzini, the main street of Cosenza. Tickets can be bought at bars, tobacconists, ticket machines and several other shops.
If you don't want or cannot take advantage of the free accommodation provided with the travel grant, or if you want to extend your stay for the weekend, here is a list of hotels and residences with special prices for Workshop participants.
We invite contributions from all researchers in the Operational Research area. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the following.
Interested applicants can send a short abstract (max 1 page) to email@example.com. Please use the subject AIROYoung Workshop Submission. The deadline for submissions is February 12, 2018.
